I can only stare in envy as pauldrye's excellent Erebus alternate Earth is published in today's Pyramid - not just because the writing is very cool, but also because I submitted my own Alternate Earth to Pyramid six months ago and haven't received any word back from the editor since then.

I suspect the main reason for this was the excessive length of the submission (nearly 5,000 words) - but still, I would have liked some response by The Powers That Be...
