This is the sound I hear every morning...

...and unfortunately in the evenings as well.

My current flatmates are moving out of our flat next Tuesday. But one of my friends (as well as a member of my gaming group) is likely to move in in July, so that's not a problem.

What is a problem is that I will have to live without a fridge until then. Does anyone have any suggestions for food that keeps well at room temperatures?



Oh, and my friend will also bring his cat with him - whose defining trait is that it sheds more hair than any other cat I have known. We've agreed that the cat will mostly stay in his rooms. Still, that's the first time I've lived with a cat - does anyone have any good stories to tell about living with a cat?

There is nothing like getting home to your apartment after a few week's absence.

Especially if you return during a cold spell. My rooms were at 7°C (45 °F) at my arrival. I hope I can get them to 18°C (65 °F) later, but more than two hours after my arrival, it's still very chilly...
